Fellowship Meal
5:30 PM CLC
Family Worship has been a practice of Christian saints since the first century. There are engravings discovered in the middle east that date back as far as the 3rd century showing families gathered, with the mother holding an instrument, the father reading from a scroll, and children gathered at their feet. On the surface, this could be seen as generic, however, the most predominant of these carvings is associated with Tertullian, who died around AD 222, and was an ardent promoter of private and family devotion.
This practice can feel daunting, but let me encourage you with this...Take about 8-12 minutes to start and simply READ / PRAY / SING. That's it! So, for this Sunday, as we are all huddled in our homes from some pretty frigid weather outside, let's start (or continue)!
READ: Jeremiah 17:5-10
PRAY: For needs in the home and for the church. Ask God to expose where you are trusting in "men" and to be steadfast in trusting God alone (all according to the text).
SING: Come, Thou Fount (at least the first and last stanza)
